Academic Success Program - Sport (Learning Skills & Development)

If you are interested in supporting our student-athletes and their academic wellness, then you should join this session! 

Melissa, Academic Success Program (Sport) Coordinator, will share more about the ASP: Sport program and how you can support our Mustang student-athletes. You’ll learn more about the components of the program (eg. Study Hall, workshops, events, course assistance) and the three different roles – Grad Mentor, Learning Peer, and Student Athlete Mentorship Program (SAMP) Mentor – that need to be filled for 2021-22.

Academic Sucess Program (Transition, Leadership, and Enrichment)

If you are interested in helping First Year students adjust to a new academic environment, then ASP may be the opportunity for you! The Academic Success Program is a 10-week program that operates across campus where upper year students support first year students in learning about their strengths, campus resources, and building connections.
Mac, our ASP coordinator, will discuss the different roles available for both undergraduate and grad students and what ASP may look like next Fall.

Career Profile Advisors (Careers & Experience)

Western's Employment Resource Centre (WERC) is Western's one-stop-shop for help with resumes, cover letters, CVs and LinkedIn profiles. WERC also offers interview practice and personal statement support too!  

WERC's team is comprised of 50+ Career Profile Advisors who are undergraduate and graduate student leaders providing feedback to Western students and alumni on the content, formatting, and organization of their application documents and on their interview skills. Services are offered through virtual drop-in sessions and electronically through email. Interview practice is by appointment. Extensive training for the Career Profile Advisor role is provided and additional leadership opportunities with WERC are available!

The Western Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Centre is a place where Western and Affiliate campus students can go to discuss general or course-specific learning concerns with a Learning Peer in a supportive, peer-run environment and develop learning strategies to achieve academic goals.

Off-Campus Advisors (Off-Campus Housing)

The Off-Campus Advisors are a group of students employed by Western University. We exist to help students and their neighbours deal with issues related to living in the community.  We are trained to provide assistance, information and support to students facing issues such as landlord or renting problems, bylaw questions, roommate disagreements and any other issue or concern that may arise when students are living off-campus.
