Assistive Technology Facilities

Accessible Education maintains two assistive technology facilities for undergraduate and gradate students’ use.  Students who would like to use these facilities should ask their Accessible Education counsellor to refer them to the assistive technologist.    

The Learning Opportunities Lab is located in Rooms 210, 213, 215, 217, 219 in the Weldon Library.  It consists of separate rooms that contain workstations that are equipped with:

  • Kurzweil 3000
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking
  • Inspiration
  • Adobe Reader
  • MS Office
  • adjustable desks in Rooms 215 and 217 at which students may stand or sit at various heights.

The Access Lab is located in Room 102 in the Weldon Library (near Quotes). This lab contains workstations that are equipped with:

  • Kurzweil 3000 and 1000
  • Zoom Text
  • JAWS
  • Open Book
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking
  • Inspiration
  • Adobe Reader
  • MS Office
  • a closed circuit television to magnify documents.
