Who is SSA?

The Scholars’ Student Association (SSA) is a student leadership team that has recently been restructured with new goals and to maintain cohesion between the associated pillars. Consisting of an engagement, events and promotions portfolio, we aim to:

  • Advocate on behalf of Western Scholars & Scholars' Electives
  • Raise awareness of our program
  • Build a strong network of like-minded individual
  • Provide resources for the unique student bod
  • Give back to the communityAdvocate on behalf of Western Scholars & Scholars' Electives

In addition to this, we collaborate with multiple pillars associated with Western’s Scholars’ programs to foster cohesion and unity, including Scholar’s Electives Connectors, Western Student Research Conference, and Scholars’ Publications.

  • Initiatives that provide insights on what life after Western Scholars or Scholar’s Electives could look like, through alumni panels, etc
  • Actively pursuing feedback to identify areas of improvement and sustainability for the programs to guide SSA’s advocacy efforts with pertinent stakeholders
  • Opportunities for networking among peers, alumni, and faculty members
  • Create a sense of belonging and community within the programs
  • Serving as a vehicle of unity between Scholar's Electives and Western Scholars students
